Myocardial Infarction (commonly known as a heart attack) is due to the sudden stoppage of blood supply to a part of the heart, usually caused by a thrombus (clot) in a coronary artery. Oxygen supply to the heart muscle is reduced, which can be life-threatening if not treated promptly.
At ILS Hospitals, the condition is treated with a technique called primary angioplasty, in which blood flow is restored by unblocking the coronary arteries at an early stage. This approach is most effective when performed quickly, further conserving heart muscle and minimizing complications.
Primary analgesia is also known as the percutaneous approach or intervention method, which is performed via tubes or catheters and may be done on an outpatient basis or through the skin (non-surgically). The catheters with a guide wire are taken up from a small puncture made on the arm at the wrist level, advanced towards the occluded artery, and subsequently a Stent is implanted to prevent the artery from closing again and ensure continued blood flow.
Here’s a list of our services :
- Immediate Primary angioplasty: We act fast to restore blood flow and reduce damage to the heart muscle.
- 24/7 emergency cardiac care: Our team is available around the clock to respond to heart attack cases without delay.
- Minimally invasive stent placement: We use balloon angioplasty followed by stent placement to keep the artery open long term.
- Advanced diagnostic Imaging: Before treatment, we use tools like angiography to accurately locate the blockage.
- Post-procedure monitoring and care: After the procedure, patients are cared for in a temporary setting to ensure stability and support recovery.
