Types of in patient admissions:
In patient admission
Day care admission: In patient facilities shall be available to patients through two types of admissions.
 For all administrative purposes, daycare patient shall be treated as an in-patient admission; the only difference is that a daycare patient is not entitled for overnight stay at the hospital unless he is ‘converted to an in patient admission’
Categories of admissions
Broadly, two categories of patients who would be admitted; i.e. those requiring interventions (schedulable service, especially surgery, endoscopy, dialysis etc) associated with the admission and those who do not require any schedulable service to be availed during IP stay.
